Wedding photographers: Do newlyweds always know better?
Wedding photographers are hired to do what they do best on the most important day of your life - capture the magic of your celebration. If you have thoroughly researched the work of photographers, talked and decided that you will trust this person to photograph your wedding, do not burden this person with additional worries and let him work. After all, you and the wedding photographer have a common goal: perfect photos of your celebration..
All wedding photographers strive to create the best quality photos. However, sometimes this is very difficult to do because couples (along with their friends and family) create difficult situations that are difficult for photographers to get out of. Therefore, we will present a few points that should be paid attention to when planning a wedding photo session.
1. Supermodel posing
Most of the shots taken at weddings are more documentary in nature than personal photo shoots. Although many formal photos will be taken, you must not artificially pose. What you think looks good in a photo may look weird in reality. So trust the photographers and follow their instructions.
2. Orange glow
Every bride wants to look perfect on her wedding day, which is almost impossible if the skin is white and pale. After all, it's so wonderful when a white dress brings out the perfect tan... But you shouldn't overdo it! Quick tanning creams are safer than tanning beds or lying on the beach, but your natural skin color will look much better in photos. Instead, tell the photographers to slightly adjust your body color (within reason!) and "warm up" the image of the photo when editing the photos. This is much easier to do than to "patch up" white spots that you accidentally missed while tanning or applying suntan cream.
3. When the photo session is not included in the plans
Professional wedding photographers really know if it is possible to take 200 shots you want in half an hour... Therefore, when planning the agenda of the wedding celebration, be sure to discuss it carefully with the photographer. After all, these people will spend much more time with you that day than the closest people. And you yourself will experience less stress when you can do all the planned work without rushing anywhere.
4. Leaving the photographer in the dark
Good photographers can work anywhere and in any light. However, in some cases, in order to take really high-quality and good photos, you need additional equipment. Therefore, if possible, arrange for photographers to work in natural light. And if it is not possible to do it at the place of the celebration or where you plan to hold a photo session, be sure to talk about it with your photographer in advance. He will prepare, and you will be assured that the photographer will fulfill all expectations.
5. Detachment from reality
For wedding photographers, it's good to work with people who know what they want and have an idea of what their holiday photo shoot should be. However, couples should keep in mind that they should not be detached from reality. After all, a wedding photo session in a hotel will look completely different than a photo session on the beach. Although wedding photographers have many great ideas and are able to capture the most charming moments of the celebration, they are not wizards...
6. Remember family members who disagree
Everything happens in families. However, if you know that aunt Onutė and aunt Birutė are constantly angry, maybe you should adjust the family photos so that they are not next to each other? It is not necessary to tell the photographers everything that is wrong in the family, but it is worth notifying in advance about possible problems of this kind.
7. Do not invite amateur photographers
When more than one person is handling the camera, party guests often don't know which photographer to look at. Unfortunately, if the bride looks the other way, even the best photographers will not correct this mistake... Therefore, since you are paying a professional for the best photos of the celebration, ask your friend to refrain from his favorite hobby. It will definitely come in handy.
8. Have patience
When everyone finally sits down at the table after a long and busy day, guests rush to fill their glasses and plates. However, no matter how difficult it is, one should hold on for a few more minutes and allow everyone who wishes to express their wishes. The photographer wants to capture the reactions of the audience, which is quite difficult when guests' mouths are full of food.
9. Leave the best spot for the photographers
Often, photographers are also entertained at weddings. However, when seating guests, you must make sure that the photographers will not be too far from you and the place of action. If photographers can't see what's going on, they won't be able to capture an interesting moment.
10. No breaks
Just because you're paying a photographer for their services doesn't mean they don't need to grab a bite to eat or run to the bathroom. Make sure you have enough time in your schedule.
11. Forget the details!
Your wedding (usually) only happens once in a lifetime, so don't worry about the details. Live this wonderful day and enjoy every beautiful moment, special emotion, etc. After all, if during the holiday you worry about too tightly stuck car decorations, you will miss the lovely details of the most important day of your life. And what about the recorded look full of concern, even though the eyes should radiate love...
